What ages can join the goalkeeper programme?
Our goalkeeper programme is open to boys and girls aged 6–18. Individual training options may have different age ranges, and players are grouped according to age, ability and stage of development.
Does my child need previous goalkeeper experience?
No. We work with goalkeepers at different stages, from players learning the position to experienced competitive goalkeepers. Sessions are adapted to the player’s age and current level.
Are scholarships or financial assistance available?
Yes. EFA offers a limited number of scholarships and financial-assistance places for eligible players. Support is considered individually and is subject to assessment, eligibility and availability.
Where does goalkeeper training take place in London?
Specialist goalkeeper sessions take place at Paddington Recreation Ground in Maida Vale and Archbishop’s Park in Waterloo. Training times vary by programme and age group.
Do goalkeepers also train with their teams?
Yes. Team training helps goalkeepers apply specialist skills in realistic game situations.
What should my child bring to training?
Goalkeeper gloves, suitable boots or astro trainers, shin pads, sportswear and water.
Do you offer trials for goalkeepers?
Yes. Book a goalkeeper trial and our team will confirm the most suitable session.
